QM: Applying the Quality Matters Rubric, Course Schedule

Bring your online course to this workshop and develop a course improvement plan. You’ll use the 7th Edition QM Rubric to review your course along the 22 Essential Specific Review Standards and obtain peer feedback.

Course Learning Objectives (LO)

  1. Identify the origin and scope of Quality Matters.
  2. Identify the critical elements of the QM quality assurance program, including the QM Rubric, materials, processes, and administrative components.
  3. Apply the QM Higher Education Rubric, Seventh Edition to review online courses
  4. Make decisions on whether the LSAL 4143 “Cultural Diversity in the World” course meets selected QM Rubric Specific Review Standards.
  5. Apply the concept of alignment
  6. Draft helpful recommendations for course improvement by citing Annotations from the QM Rubric and evidence from the course.

MO1: Explain the importance of the Specific Review Standard Annotations and evidence from the course (LO 3).
MO2: List the steps (framework) for writing helpful recommendations (LO 4).
MO3: Find Evidence for Specific Review Standard 1.1 from General Standard 1 in LSAL 4143 Cultural Diversity in the World (LO 4).
MO4: Use the Evidence found (or not found), the Specific Review Standard and its Annotation, and the 85% Rule to make decisions about whether or not Specific Review Standards have been met (LO 4).
