Course Certification

Course Certification and Review Process

CSU Online Course Services has established a process for “Formal Course Review Certifications” of fully online and hybrid courses across the 23-campus system. Course certifications are conducted using the CSU Quality Learning & Teaching (QLT) Rubric or the Quality Matters (QM) Rubric.

Conduct a QLT or QM Course Review

Online Course Services offers the opportunity for faculty and staff to conduct self or peer reviews of online or hybrid courses in the CSU. The goal of these reviews is to provide encouragement and support toward designing and delivering courses that result in quality learning experiences for students.

Course Certification Review Process

Course review and certification is a three stage process.  Certification is possible when the reviewed course earns at least 85% of all possible points and meets all core/essential standards in the rubric being applied (QLT or QM).
