Hello, my name is Jason McGensy.
I’m an instructional designer at Fresno State.
Generative AI offers a wide range of opportunities to augment our work as higher education professionals and offers us new ways to think about how we write, create, and research in our roles.
This course is designed to introduce you to the wide world of generative AI, examining how it's being used across sectors of the working world, exploring the vast array of AI tools on the market to help you imagine how you can use them in your role, and considering the ethical issues that the use of these tools introduce.
The goal of this course is not to make you an AI expert or to force you to use AI.
Rather, it is to help you make informed decisions about where generative AI fits with you and your work, where it's appropriate and where it's not, which tools are the best ones for the task at hand, and where and best enhances the great work you're already doing.
